CONTAINER TERMINAL (PDSA)
The Container Terminal commissioned in 1985, has a total surface of 22 Hectars of yard in a fully enclosed facility that is ISO 28000 certified.
Berth Characteristics and Equipment
- Berth l (180m) offers a depth of 9.5m
- Berth 2 (220m) has a depth of 12m.
- RORO berth set for the operation of RORO vessels ยท
- Four (4) ships to shore cranes are available with a lifting capacity of 50T and an outreach of 40m.
- Fully equipped with latest handling machineries (Reachstaker, Forklifts ,truks and trailers etc..)
Human resources and Training
The Port of Djibouti is proud to have invested a lot in the training of the staff. This strategy re enforced the commitment of the workforce to the company.
All planners, Documentation clerks and gate clerks are trained and experienced on the use of Navis N4, the Terminal operating systems.
All yard and vessel clerks, Foremen and terminal equipment operators are trained on Radio Data Terminal (RDT) and Vehicle Mounted Terminal (VMT)
ISO 28000 Certification
The container terminal is certify ISO 28000 ensuring the terminal as an efficient safe and secure environment for the vessels as well as the trucks.
Capacity
The Container Terminal has a handling capacity of 350 000 TEU per annum.
The Container Terminal can handle all types of containers including Reefers (126 plugging points)
There are 4 gates lanes with a dedicated lane for the Out of Gauge containers.
Open CFS
The container terminal of PDSA also propose stuffing and unstuffing services in open area of 15 000 sqm.
Information Technology
The port of Djibouti has invested in state of art softwares such as Navis N4 as a terminal operations system,Maximo for maintenance management, Sage for finance and other sotwares for operations and human resources.
There are interfaces with customs, forwarders and shipping lines. The port is the leading entity to establish a port community system well integrated
